Our patients do very well after colon surgery performed in a minimally invasive way with small incisions and minimal downtime.
Dr Lyons has thirty years of experience in performing upper endoscopy, that can evaluate various types of esophageal, stomach, and intestinal problems such as reflux, hiatal hernia, ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, or cancer.
Screening, Diagnostic, and Therapeutic Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy evaluates the colon and rectum with a camera. This is the standard of care and most accurate way to evaluate the colon for colon cancer. If something abnormal is found, Dr Lyons will biopsy this and send for evaluation in the laboratory.
Skin and Soft Tissue Procedures
Our in-office operating room is well equipped to perform awake procedures such as removal of lipomas, cysts, skin cancers or lesions, etc.
Dr Lyons has many years of experience and is very comfortable managing any type of surgical emergency. Typically patients have to be seen in the ER first but Dr Lyons may be able to streamline your care to take you directly to the operating room or intensive care unit depending on your emergency.
Thyroid Evaluation and Surgery
Using in-office ultrasound the thyroid is examined and samples of fluid or tissue can be removed and sent to the laboratory for further evaluation.
Upper Endoscopy Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures
Upper Endoscopy (also known as gastroscopy, EGD, or esophagogastroduodenoscopy) is a procedure that enables Dr Lyons to examine the lining of the esophagus (swallowing tube), stomach and duodenum (first portion of the small intestine). A thin, flexible viewing tool called an endoscope (scope) is used.
